- Regardless, this parable has important lessons to be learned. Even if Mt. 24 pertains only to 70AD, other passages teach to be watchful. 2 P 3:10-14 Look Closer!
I. THIS IS A FASCINATING PARABLE TO ANALYZE EASILY UNDERSTOOD.
- KEY ELEMENTS: Ten virgins out waiting arrival of bridegroom. (1-4) we know the story!
- Coming delayed, cannot borrow, go and return but not allowed in. Mt. 25:11-12
- Jesus then makes the application Mt. 25:13
- THE MEANING OF THE PARABLE…
- The main message is quite clear. Mt. 24-42-46, Mt. 25:13 NEED TO ALWAYS WATCH!

II. LIKE OTHERS THIS PARABLE IS EASILY APPLIED TO YOUR LIFE.
- We are like Virgins awaiting the second coming of the bridegroom.
- Some Wise: Diligently prepare for return & growth. 2 Pet. 3:11-14, 2 Pet 1:10-11
- Some foolish: don’t prepare. Some act like Mt. 24:48-49 End result 50-51. Who are you?
- One should not trust in previous accomplishments…
- Notice FV did have “some” oil- some preparation. Mt. 25:8, Phil. 3:12 you depend on past?
- Preparedness in not transferable…
- Wise could not share oil with foolish. Mt. 25:9. Can’t impart salvation to another. Ps. 49:7, Pr. 9:12
- Ever trusted in relationship with another salvation?
- Unprepared people don’t receive a second chance…
- Despite pleas, foolish not permitted in. Mt. 25:10-12 at 2nd coming the time for salvation in gone!
- Maintaining a state of preparedness…
- Do not let the world pre-occupy you – Luke 21:34-35 ( Jn. 5:19, James 3:15) Lk. 21:36 (Eph. 6:18)

Conclusion
- Parable teaches a great day is coming where those in kingdom will find themselves in two different groups: those prepared and watching. Those who are not ready and will hear “I don’t know you”
- If the Lord were to come today. Prepared? Will He know you? 7:21-23, Mt. 25:13
